Estoy feliz y recuperado: Peter Murphy tras infarto

El pasado 13 de agosto, Murphy, quien fue conocido en la década de los 80 por ser el vocalista de la banda de rock gótico Bauhaus, fue trasladado de urgencia a un hospital, tras algunas dificultades para respirar y su diagnóstico fue un infarto.

PETER MURPHY Suffers Heart Attack: Remaining NYC Residency shows to be postponed and rescheduled. On the evening of August 13, Peter Murphy was rushed to a local New York City hospital due to shortness of breath and was unable to perform his scheduled concert at Le Poisson Rouge. Early Wednesday morning, it was determined that Peter had suffered a heart attack. Lenox Hill Hospital Cardiologist Jason Song issued the following statement: "Mr. Murphy was admitted for treatment of a myocardial infarction, had two stents placed in his right coronary artery, and was started on medications to manage his heart condition. He remains in the hospital for continued monitoring of his condition." Sadly, Peter is physically unable to perform the remaining shows in the Residency series (August 15th, 16th, 18th, and 19th). These shows will be postponed to later dates to be determined. Ticket buyers will have their tickets transferred to the rescheduled date or can request a refund by emailing info@lprnyc.com by 5PM EST on August 30, 2019. Peter’s family has issued the following statement: "We would like to thank the fans for their undying support and hope that Peter will be back on stage with a refreshed heart, stronger than before!" Le Poisson Rouge has issued the following statement: "All of us at LPR are devastated by this news. Peter’s performances and presence over the past twelve days have been amazing - both onstage and off. Este lunes, el cantante escribió una carta en la que agradece a todas las personas que estuvieron a su alrededor:

Gracias al excelente equipo de médicos, especialistas, enfermeras y personal de atención. Estoy muy contento de decir que estoy funcionando otra vez”.

Luego de ese episodio que vivió al ser ingresado de urgencia al hospital Lenox Hill de Nueva York y pasar por los rigores de la terapia intensiva, señaló:

Estoy muy feliz de decir que me he recuperado por completo”.

Agradeció a su mánager Brian Lowe y a su asistente Chantal Thomas.

También quiero agradecer a todos los amigos y fanáticos que me han estado apoyando durante esta terrible experiencia. Sigo agradecido especialmente a mis compañeros de la banda Bauhaus", añadió el cantante en el mensaje que público en sus redes sociales.

A personal statement from Peter: Following my recent episode in New York City with my heart attack and being admitted into Lenox Hill Hospital and seeing myself go through the rigors of intensive care, I am very happy to say that I have made a full recovery. Thanks to the superb team of doctors, specialists, nurses and care staff. I am so glad to say I am up and running again. My tour manager Brian Lowe and my assistant Chantal Thomas were directly instrumental in saving my life and to whom I cannot thank enough. I also want to thank every single friend and fan who has been supporting me throughout this ordeal. Debido al ataque cardíaco que sufrió, el considerado “padrino del rock gótico” se vio obligado a suspender conciertos programados en Estados Unidos. Las presentaciones que quedaron pospuestas fueron las del 13, 15, 16, 18 y 19 de agosto en Nueva York.
