El español Pablo Alborán y la mexicana Natalia Lafourcade fueron nominados al Grammy a mejor álbum de pop latino, donde también será candidato el colombiano Carlos Vives, anunció la Academia de la Grabación.

Alborán está nominado por el álbum "Prometeo" y es la segunda vez que opta al Grammy al mejor álbum de pop latino, categoría en la que compitió con "Terral" en 2015 pero en la que finalmente el ganador fue Ricky Martin por "A quien quiera escuchar".

En cambio, la mexicana Natalia Lafourcade, nominada por "Musas (Un homenaje al folclore latinoamericano en manos de Los Macorinos) Vol.2", sí sabe lo que es ganar el Grammy, ya que en 2015 se llevó el reconocimiento al mejor álbum de rock, urbano o alternativo latino por "Hasta la raíz".

Esta es la quinta candidatura para Lafourcade en toda su carrera.

Y "Vives" le ha dado al colombiano Carlos Vives la sexta mención en su trayectoria para los Grammy, unos galardones en los que salió victorioso en dos ocasiones: mejor álbum de tropical latino tradicional por "Déjame entrar" en 2001 y mejor álbum tropical latino por "Más + Corazón Profundo" en 2014.

Por su parte, el Grammy al mejor álbum latino de rock, urbano o alternativo se lo disputarán Aterciopelados ("Claroscura"), Coastcity ("Coastcity"), Monsieur Periné ("Encanto Tropical"), Orishas ("Gourmet") y Zoé ("Aztlán").

Luis Miguel con "¡México por siempre!" encabeza los candidatos al mejor álbum de música regional mexicana, donde también serán aspirantes Ángela Aguilar ("Primero soy mexicana"), Calibre 50 ("Mitad y mitad"), Aída Cuevas ("Totalmente Juan Gabriel Vol. II"), Los Texmaniacs ("Cruzando borders"), y Mariachi Sol de México de José Hernández ("Leyendas de mi pueblo").

Además, el mejor álbum latino tropical se decidirá entre Charlie Aponte ("Pa' mi gente"), Formell y los Van Van ("Legado"), Orquesta Akokán ("Orquesta Akokán"), Felipe Peláez ("Ponle actitud") y Spanish Harlem Orchestra ("Anniversary").

Al margen de las categorías específicamente latinas de los Grammy, las nominaciones también tuvieron mucho sabor hispano gracias a la estadunidense de origen dominicano Cardi B, que logró cinco nominaciones.

Cardi B optará a grabación del año por "I Like It" (junto al colombiano J Balvin y el puertorriqueño Bad Bunny), a disco del año y álbum de rap por "Invasion of Privacy", mejor actuación de rap por "Be Careful", mejor actuación de pop de dúo o grupo por su colaboración junto a Maroon 5 en "Girls Like You".

La ceremonia de entrega de los codiciados gramófonos tendrá lugar el próximo 10 de febrero de 2019, en el Staples Center de Los Ángeles.
